Core Word Practice me you like want more all done on off happy sad mad play see help yes no

A tally chart to help staff keep track of how often they are modeling some early core vocabulary words with kids and possibly how often the child is also using them. However, I like to always have staff (teachers, EAs, etc.) track their own modeling first. When beginning with early AAC (either low-tech or high-tech), I have heard that adults should be modeling at least 90% of the time the target words are used, and then set up situations where the child can also try to use the words (but only expect about 10% of the communication to come from them initially). This sounds like a lot of modeling, but think of how much speech/language a baby hears before they use their first words successfully!
